Jupiter as the astronomer and artist Étienne Léopold Trouvelot drew it on 1 November 1880, at 9.30 at night, from The Trouvelot Astronomical Drawings (1881–82), cut free of its black page so only the planet is printed.
The print
Heavy cotton with a faded wash, cut boxy with dropped shoulders. Printed small at the centre of the chest, about 8 × 9 cm, in the drawing’s own colours. The drawing is in the public domain, restored here from a scan of the plate.
